The Volvo Ocean Race Calling Hong Kong!

The Volvo Ocean Race is in full swing and the fourth leg is about to arrive in the City of Hong Kong, after an exciting race from Melbourne! For the 2017-2018 edition of the race, the organizers again commissioned us to supply them with a variety of different container equipment. These specialized units are used in the transportation of the race villages around the world.Nick Bice, the Director of Boats and Maintenance for the Volvo Ocean Race explained about the value that these containers have played in improving the Logistics between the stop-overs in this race:

“Whilst there is a race unfolding on the high seas, one of the biggest races and challenges in The Volvo ocean Race is related to logistics and all the equipment needed to ensure we can arrive in each host city and be ready to build up the race village with a very tight time line. To ensure we can do this in the most economical manner, it is absolutely paramount that the equipment related to logistics – which includes customized containers and flat racks is of the highest quality and that is what Central Oceans offers”
