Supporting the Energy Transition: Delivering to a Rapeseed Processing Plant in Poland
Over the past few months, our teams in China, Singapore, and Belgium have worked closely together to plan and execute a major logistics project for a new rapeseed processing plant in Poland. Despite tight deadlines, the teams successfully ensured timely deliveries by utilizing faster and more frequent container vessel options.
Working in close coordination with the client, we prepared the cargo in modular packages, which were transported using a combination of special equipment and breakbulk shipments across nine separate vessels to Europe. After two months of meticulous execution, the final shipment departed this past weekend. Our European team is now set to manage the final leg of the journey to the project site.
This cargo is destined for a state-of-the-art facility that will process up to 500,000 tonnes of rapeseed annually, primarily sourced from Polish agricultural producers. In addition to the pressing plant itself, the facility will include comprehensive infrastructure such as:
• Raw material reception and dispatch systems
• Storage units for raw materials and finished products
• Pressing and extraction operations
• Steam generation for processing
• Wastewater treatment systems
Once operational, the facility will produce approximately 200,000 tonnes of oil annually for the manufacture of low-carbon biofuels. Construction is expected to be completed by mid-2026, with a total investment of approximately USD 195 million.
This new development is part of the client’s broader biofuels strategy, aimed at reducing reliance on fossil fuels by producing renewable fuels from agricultural and waste-based sources.
We are proud to be part of a project contributing to Europe’s sustainable energy future, and we thank all teams involved for their dedication and expertise in delivering this complex project successfully.
