Supporting Energy Infrastructure: Major Module Shipment Aboard BigRoll KMC Busan
We are pleased to highlight our recent involvement in another successful heavy-lift shipment, this time alongside the BigRoll KMC Busan, calling into Tianjin, China for a major offshore energy project.
The BigRoll KMC Busan is a part of the BigRoll Module Carrier fleet, engineered to meet the demands of modularized cargo and oversized shipments. With an overall length of 166 meters and a beam of 40 meters, the vessel is ideally suited for the transportation of massive industrial components. Featuring an open, flush deck and high deadweight capacity, the KMC Busan is designed to support large-scale projects in oil and gas, as well as the transport of heavy components for renewable energy developments.
Our team assisted with vessel operations during her recent call into the Port of Tianjin, where she was tasked with loading a wellhead module, a key structure at the heart of a $2 billion shallow-water gas condensate development project in Nigeria, led by a major player in the oil and gas sector.
Handling and securing such specialized and delicate cargo requires exacting procedures, precision loading and careful coordination between the crew, project teams, and terminal operators. The team assisted with every stage of the operation to ensure the loadout was completed safely, efficiently and with minimal downtime.
The wellhead module and jacket are critical to the infrastructure that, once installed offshore, will help deliver up to 500 million cubic feet of natural gas per day, contributing significantly to local energy supply and national development goals in Nigeria. This shipment marks a major milestone in the project’s timeline and demonstrates the global reach and complexity of today’s industrial logistics networks.
